GAUGE:

18 sts = 4 in. (10 cm) over pattern before felting. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

This was super easy and very quick! I wanted a masculine cowl neck for my brother and this was great. I used a charcoal wool alpaca blend bulky yarn on 13 circular needles and it knitted in one evening. It used 1 1/4 balls of yarn. Perfect for a last minute gift or a first time knitter.
