Whimsy Stripes Rug

Lion Brand® Lion® Cotton

GAUGE:

16 half double crochet stitches = 4 in. (10 cm). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

NOTES:

To change color, work last stitch of old color to last yarn over. Yarn over with new color and draw through all loops on hook to complete stitch. Fasten off old color.

Whimsy Stripes Rug Reviewed by Kelly Schneider on 2013-02-07 ****
I made this rug but didn't buy the "kit". You can make it all with scrap yarn (and lord knows we all have buckets full of scrap yarn!). It looks wonderful and feels good to stand on while washing dishes. I want to make a longer one to span the length of my washer and dryer.
