Babycakes Blocks
Lion Brand® LB Collection® Superwash Merino
GAUGE: 23 sts = 4 in. (10 cm) in St st (k on RS, p on WS) with larger needles and A. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
STITCH EXPLANATION: Note: The front of work is the side facing you as you knit; the back of work is the side facing away from you as you knit.

Pin, then sew a square to one end of sides. Rep with rem square, leaving one side unseamed for stuffing. Stuff fabric block with fiberfill, then sew rem side closed.
Assembly
Make 1 Block each in A, B, and C as follows:
Sew the 2 St st sides alternately with the 2 Garter Ridge sides to make a strip. Seam ends of strip to make block sides. Fit side strip around inner fabric block. Pin, then sew rem sides to each open end.
