Treasured Heirloom Baby Blanket
Lion Brand® LB Collection® Cashmere
GAUGE: 17 sts + 22 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) in Garter st (k every row). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
NOTES: 1. Circular needle is used to accommodate large number of sts. Work back and forth on circular needle as if working on straight needles.
2. Blanket is worked in one piece from corner to corner, alternating Garter and Lace Panels.
3. First half of Blanket is shaped by increasing one st at beg of every row; second half decreases one st at beg of every row.
4. Each Garter Panel ends with a WS row; each Lace Panel begins with a RS row.

| I made this blanket with LB Collection Baby Alpaca instead of cashmere for a co-worker's baby shower. At the halfway point it still seemed small so I added another complete patten repeat before decreasing. I know my tension is a little uneven & would not be quite square so I blocked really well & added a ribbon edging by threading a cross grain ribbon through the end row YOs. I tacked it down at the corners & along the sides. My co-worker loved it! The yarn was so soft yet more affordable than the LB Cashmere, I have ordered several more skeins of LB Baby Alpaca to just have for when another special project comes up. Thank you for the great free patterns & new luxury yarns!!!
