GAUGE:
8 hdc = 3 in. (7.75 cm) BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
NOTES:
To change color, work last st of old color to last yarn over. Yarn over with new color and draw through all loops on hook to complete st.

I made this sweater in two sizes for sisters. I ended up doing a single chain around the edges to give it a finished look and adding button loops. That really made it look much better! I also made matching hats.
