Row 2: K the purl sts and p the knit sts.
Rep Row 2 for Seed st.
STRIPE SEQUENCE
*Work 2 rows each with A, B and C; rep from * for Stripe Sequence. |
NOTES: Carry color(s) not in use along side edge of work.

WASHCLOTH
With A, cast on 41 sts.
Rows 1 and 2: With A, work in Seed st.
Rows 3 and 4: With B, work in Seed st.
Rows 5 and 6: With C, work in Seed st.
Row 7: With A, work in Seed st as established over first 4 sts, k to last 4 sts, work in Seed st over last 4 sts.
Rep Row 7, changing color following Stripe Sequence, until piece measures about 9 in. (23 cm) from beginning.
Continuing in Stripe Sequence, work in Seed st for 6 rows.
Bind off.
FINISHING

| I think it's too big for a washcloth. I'd use Size 6 needles and no more than 35 st. Don't forget it's going to 'stretch out' some.
