GAUGE:
16 sc + 18 rnds = 4 in. (10 cm). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

SMALL BOWL
Base With A, ch 2.
Rnd 1: Work 6 sc in first ch. Place marker for beginning of rnd; move marker up as each rnd is completed.
Rnd 2: Work 2 sc in each st around – 12 sts.
Rnd 3: Work *2 sc in next st, sc in next st; rep from * around – 18 sts.
Rnd 4: Work *2 sc in next st, sc in next 2 sts; rep from * around – 24 sts.
Rnd 5: Work *2 sc in next st, sc in next 3 sts; rep from * around – 30 sts.
Rnd 6: Work *2 sc in next st, sc in next 4 sts; rep from * around – 36 sts.
Rnd 7: Work *2 sc in next st, sc in next 5 sts; rep from * around – 42 sts.
Shape Side Rnd 8: Sc in each st around.
Repeat Rnd 8 until side measures about 2 in. (5 cm).
Fasten off.
MEDIUM BOWL Base With B, ch 2.

LARGE BOWL Base With C, ch 2.
Rnds 1-11: Work same as Medium Bowl.
Rnd 12: *2 sc in next st, sc in next 10 sts; rep from * around – 72 sts.
Rnd 13: *2 sc in next st, sc in next 11 sts; rep from * around – 78 sts.
Rnd 14: *2 sc in next st, sc in next 12 sts; rep from * around – 84 sts.
Shape Side Rnd 15: Sc in each st around.
Repeat Rnd 15 until side measures about 4 in. (10 cm).
Fasten off.
FINISHING With color of your choice, sew straight sts just below top edge of each Bowl. Weave in ends.

This pattern was fun. I had always wanted to crochet bowls and found this pattern easy to follow. I love the added trim around the edge. I crocheted the smaller bowl with an acrylic yarn. For the larger bowl, I used a nylon yarn - gave the bowl a more rigid shape
