GAUGE:

10 dc + 6 rows = about 4 in. (10 cm). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

NOTES:

To change color, work last stitch of old color to last yarn over. Yarn over with new color and draw through all loops on hook to complete stitch.

Patchin Place Afghan Reviewed by lynn yost on 2011-10-07 *****
Love, love, love this afghan. I made two of them last winter. One according to the color suggestion (pic included) and another one out of scraps of leftover skeins. For the 'scrappy' blanket I did buy enough of one color to sub for the black squares. Both turned out great. Easy to crochet, put together and super warm. Thanks for the free pattern Lion Brand Yarn.
