Honeycomb Poncho
Lion Brand® Wool-Ease®
GAUGE: 30 sts + 30 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) in honeycomb pattern with larger needle. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
STITCH EXPLANATION: 2/2 LC (2 over 2 left cross) Slip 2 sts to cable needle and hold in front, k2, then k2 from cable needle.

| I'm halfway through with this project. The pattern knits up beautifully. I started with the circular needles, but found using 13" straight needles much easier for the cables. Cables are difficult for me when everything is limp on the circular needles. The straight needles give more stability and better stitch control. I'm also thinking of making a garter stitch sash to keep the poncho closer to the body on windy days. I may even do this in black, tan and denim blue.
