GAUGE:

Motif = about 5 1/2 in. (14 cm) across. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Festive Tree Skirt Reviewed by BONNIE S HARRELL on 2011-12-14 **
I have had the same problem with the pattern - I even got a few friends to try and make the half motifs and they could not, either. Cute pattern but I am left with an incomplete tree skirt without the half motifs. A correction needs to be made!
