Houndstooth Check Tie

Lion Brand® LB Collection® Superwash Merino - Sock-EaseTM

GAUGE:

30 sts + 40 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) in St st (k on RS, p on WS) with A. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

STITCH EXPLANATION:

ssk (slip, slip, knit) Slip next 2 sts as if to knit, one at a time, to right needle; insert left needle into fronts of these 2 sts and knit them together.

Check Pattern (multiple of 4 sts)
Note:
In Check Pattern, the contrast color (CC) alternates between B, C, and D as specified in Tie pattern.
Row 1 (RS): With A k1, *with CC k1, with A k3; rep from * to last 3 sts, with CC k1, with A k2.
Row 2: *With CC p3, with A p1; rep from * across.
Row 3: *With CC k3, with A k1; rep from * across.
Row 4: With A p1, *with CC p1, with A p3; rep from * to last 3 sts, with CC p1, with A p2.
Rep Rows 1-4 for Check Pattern.

NOTES:

When changing color, pick up new color from under old color to twist yarns and prevent holes.
