GAUGE: 10 stitches = 4 in. (10 cm) in Garter stitch (knit every row) BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Work in Garter stitch (knit every row) for about 70 in. (178 cm).
Bind off.
FINISHING
Weave in ends.

| I LOVE this pattern and LOVE Homespun yarn. I made 8 shawls for my family as Christmas gifts. So very soft and warm. My son uses his at his desk chair as a lap afghan because it doesn't get caught in the wheels. Also, I made one as a prayer shawl for a dear friend who lost her husband suddenly at Christmas time. Online are prayer cards to download to have the right words to express sympathy.I did cast on 60 stitches to have it wider down the back and used 3 balls. They came out about 24" wide and approx. 56"-57" long. Thanks for your free pattern, appreciate you sharing.
