STITCH EXPLANATION:

sc2tog (sc decrease) Insert hook into st and draw up a loop. Insert hook into next st and draw up a loop. Yarn over, draw through all 3 loops on hook.

NOTES:

Work in continuous rnds; do not join or turn unless otherwise instructed.

MOUSE
BODY
(Worked from top of head to bottom of body).
With A, ch 2.
Rnd 1: Work 6 sc in first ch. Place marker for beg of rnd; move marker up as each rnd is completed.
Rnd 2: Work 2 sc in each st around – 12 sts.
Rnd 3: *2 sc in next st, sc in next st, rep from * around – 18 sts.
Rnds 4 –8: Sc in each st around.
Rnd 9: *Sc2tog, sc in next st, rep from * around – 12 sts.
Rnd 10: Sc in each st around.
Rnd 11: *2 sc in next st, sc in next st, rep from * around – 18 sts.
Rnds 12 –17: Sc in each st around. Stuff piece firmly.
Rnd 18: *Sc2tog, sc in next st, rep from * around – 12 sts.
Rnd 19: *Sc2tog, rep from * around – 6 sts
Fasten off.

EARS (make 2)
With A, ch 2.
Rep Rnds 1 and 2 of Head and Body. Fasten off.

HAT
With B, ch 2.
Rnd 1: Work 4 sc in first ch. Place marker for beg of rnd; move marker up as each rnd is completed.
Rnd 2 and all even rnds: Sc in each st around.
Rnd 3: *2 sc in next st, sc in each of next st, rep from * around – 6 sts.
Rnd 5: *2 sc in next st, sc in each of next 2 sts, rep from * around – 8 sts.
Rnd 7: *2 sc in next st, sc in each of next 3 sts, rep from * around – 10 sts.
Rnd 9: *2 sc in next st, sc in each of next 4 sts, rep from * around – 12 sts.
Rnd 11: *2 sc in next st, sc in each of next 5 sts, rep from * around – 14 sts.
Rnd 13: *2 sc in next st, sc in each of next 6 sts, rep from * around –16 sts.
Rnd 15: *2 sc in next st, sc in each of next 7 sts, rep from * around – 18 sts.
Rnd 17: *2 sc in next st, sc in each of next 8 sts, rep from * around – 20 sts.
Rnd 18: Sc in each sc around.
Fasten off.

ARMS (make 2)
With A, ch 2.
Rnd 1: Work 6 sc in first ch. Place marker for beg of rnd; move marker up as each rnd is completed.
Rnds 2-4: Sc in each st around.
Fasten off.

POMPOM
With C, ch 2.
Rnd 1: Work 8 sc in first ch.
Rnd 2: Sc in each st around.
Rnd 3: Sc2tog around- 4 sts.
Fasten off.

SCARF
With D, ch 4.
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across.
Row 2: Ch 1, turn. Sc in each st across.
Rep Row 2 until piece measures about 10 in. (25.5 cm) from beg.
Fasten off.

FINISHING
Sew on Ears. Sew pompom to end of Hat, then sew Hat to head. Knot a strand of C to Hat for hanging loop. With pink yarn, embroider a straight st nose. With black yarn, embroider straight st eyes. Lightly stuff Arms and sew to Body. Tie a 4 in. (10 cm) length of A to Body for tail. Tie Scarf around neck. Weave in ends.
