GAUGE:
6 hdc + 5 rows = 4 in. (10 cm). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
STITCH EXPLANATION:
Cl (cluster) (Yo, insert hook in indicated st, yo and draw up a loop, yo and draw through 2 loops on hook) 3 times, yo and draw through all loops on hook.

BACK With A, ch 12 (17, 20, 21).
Row 1: Hdc in 3rd ch from hook (counts as 2 hdc), hdc in each ch to end – 11 (16, 19, 20) hdc.
Inc Row: Ch 2 (counts as hdc here and throughout), turn, 2 hdc in next st, hdc in each st to last 2 sts, 2 hdc in next st, hdc in last st – 13 (18, 21, 22) hdc.
Continue to work in hdc, working Inc Row every 1 (1, 2, 2) rows 3 (3, 3, 5) more times – 19 (24, 27, 32) hdc. Then work even in hdc until piece measures 12 (17, 20, 24) in. (30.5 (43, 51, 61) cm) from beg. Fasten off.
UNDERPIECE With A, ch 5.
Row 1: Hdc in 3rd ch from hook (counts as 2 hdc), hdc in each ch to end – 4 hdc.
Inc Row: Ch 2, turn, 2 hdc in next st, hdc in each st to last 2 sts, 2 hdc in next st, hdc in last st – 6 hdc.
Continue to work in hdc, working Inc Row every other row 1 (1, 3, 4) times – 8 (8, 12, 14) hdc. Then work even in hdc until piece measures 8 1/4 (12 1/4, 16 1/2, 18 1/4) in. (21 (31, 42, 46.5) cm) from beg. Fasten off.
FLOWERS (make 3 – 1 with A and B, 1 with B and C, and 1 with C and A)
With first color, ch 4; join with sl st in first ch to form beg ring.
Rnd 1: Ch 1, work 7 sc in ring; join with sl st in first sc. Fasten off first color.
Rnd 2: Join second color with sl st in joining sl st, (ch 3, Cl in back loop of next sc, ch 3, sc into center of beg ring, sk next sc) 4 times; join with sl st in top of beg ch.
Fasten off.
FINISHING Sew sides of Underpiece to Back, leaving 2 (2 1/2, 3, 3 1/2) in. (5 (6.5, 7.5, 9) cm) open on each side for legs. Sew flowers to Back.
