GAUGE:
16 dc = 4 in. (10 cm). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
SCARF With A, chain 22.
Row 1: Double crochet in 4th ch from hook and in each chain across.
Row 2: Chain 3 (counts as first double crochet), turn. Double crochet in each double crochet across – 20 double crochet.
Rows 3-6: Repeat Row 2. At end of Row 6, change to B.
Rows 7-12: With B, repeat Row 2. At end of Row 12, change to A.
Rows 13-18: With A, repeat Row 2. At end of Row 18, change to B.
Repeat Rows 7-18 four more times.
Fasten off.
FINISHING
Fringe Cut 10 in. (25.5 cm) strands of A and B. For each fringe, fold 8 strands of yarn in half. Use crochet hook to draw fold through edge of piece, forming a loop. Pull ends of fringe through this loop. Pull to tighten. Make 7 fringe along each end of Scarf, alternating A and B colors. Trim fringe ends evenly.
Weave in ends.
