STITCH EXPLANATION:

sc2tog (sc decrease) Insert hook into st and draw up a loop. Insert hook into next st and draw up a loop. Yarn over, draw through all 3 loops on hook – 1 st decreased.

NOTES:

Work in continuous rnds; do not join or turn unless otherwise instructed.

PUMPKIN DOLL
HEAD AND BODY

Working from the top of the head to the bottom of the body. With A, ch 2.
Rnd 1: Work 6 sc in first ch. Place marker in first st for beg of rnd; move marker up as each rnd is completed.
Rnd 2: Work 2 sc in each st around – 12 sts.
Rnd 3: *2 sc in next st, sc in next st, rep from * around – 18 sts.
Rnd 4: *2 sc in next st, sc in each of next 2 sts, rep from * around – 24 sts.
Rnds 5-10: Sc in each st around.
Rnd 11: *Sc2tog, sc in each of next 2 sts, rep from * around – 18 sts. Following package instructions, attach safety eyes. Begin stuffing, keep stuffing as work progresses.
Rnd 12: *Sc2tog, sc in next st, rep from * around – 12 sts. Change to C.
Rnd 13: Sc in each st around. Change to B.
Rnd 14: *2 sc in next st, sc in next st, rep from * around – 18 sts.
Rnd 15: *2 sc in next st, sc in each of next 2 sts, rep from * around – 24 sts.
Rnd 16: *2 sc in next st, sc in each of next 3 sts, rep from * around – 30 sts.
Rnds 17-25: Sc in each st around.
Rnd 26: *Sc2tog, sc in each of next 3 sts, rep from * around – 24 sts.
Rnd 27: *Sc2tog, sc in each of next 2 sts, rep from * around – 18 sts.
Rnd 28: *Sc2tog, sc in next st, rep from * around – 12 sts.
Rnd 29: *Sc2tog, rep from * around – 6 sts. Fasten off.

ARMS (make 2)
With A, ch 2.
Rnd 1: Work 5 sc in first ch. Place marker in first st for beg of rnd; move marker up as each rnd is completed.
Rnd 2: Work 2 sc in each st around – 10 sts.
Rnd 3: Sc in each st around.
Rnd 4: Sc in each of next 3 sts, (sc2tog) twice, sc in each of next 3 sts – 8 sts. Change to C.
Rnd 5: Sc in each st around. Change to B.
Rnds 6-9: Sc in each st around. Fasten off.

LEGS (make 2)
With B, ch 2.
Rnd 1: Work 6 sc in first ch. Place marker in first st for beg of rnd; move marker up as each rnd is completed.
Rnd 2: Work 2 sc in each st around – 12 sts.
Rnd 3: Sc in each st around.
Rnd 4: Sc in each of next 4 sts, (sc2tog) twice, sc in each of next 4 sts – 10 sts.
Rnd 5: Sc in each of next 3 sts, (sc2tog) twice, sc in each of next 3 sts – 8 sts.
Rnds 6-11: Sc in each st around. Fasten off.

HAT
With B, ch 2.
Rnd 1: Work 8 sc in first ch. Place marker in first st for beg of rnd; move marker up as each rnd is completed.
Rnd 2: Work 2 sc in each st around – 16 sts.
Rnd 3: *2 sc in next st, sc in next st, rep from * around – 24 sts.
Rnd 4: *2 sc in next st, sc in each of next 2 sts, rep from * around – 32 sts.
Rnds 5-9: Sc in each st around.
Rnd 10: *Sc2tog, sc in each of next 2 sts, rep from * around – 24 sts. Change to C.
Rnd 11: Sc in each st around. Fasten off.

LEAF
With C, ch 4. Work 2 dc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc in next ch, 3 sc in last ch; working along opposite side of ch, work hdc in next ch, 2 dc in next ch. Fasten off.

FINISHING
Stuff Arms and Legs lightly and sew to Body. With red yarn, embroider a straight st smile. With brown yarn, sew a small loop at center top of Hat for ‘stem’. Sew Leaf to top of Hat. Weave in ends.

This little guy came out SO CUTE! I gave it to my sister for hosting Thanksgiving at her house. It's a nice little hostess gift if you put it in a basket with some pumpkin bread. :)
