GAUGE:

1 Motif = 9 in. (23 cm) diameter. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Buy more yarn! Reviewed by Lilith Uhler on 2010-12-28 ****
While I love how this turned out, I was disappointed because it took MUCH more yarn than the pattern called for. That was quite an inconvenience for me because I bought the materials to have a project during our impending snowstorm. It was a great distraction, but that meant I couldn't go get more yarn to finish it!

Overall this is a charming pattern and I will do another one for sure.
