I really want to give this as a gift, but I'd sure like to see if it will be good to use in the shower for myself first. I guess I'll just start on the next one.
I'm fairly new to crocheting from a pattern, so I wasn't doing the rows very well. Next time, I'll use a stitch marker. After the thumb opening, I just crocheted a continuous row.
I also found that I needed a bit more than 4 inches after the thumb to fit my hand in, so keep trying it on before doing the decreases.
I can see why you may want to skip the thumb: When you change hands, you need to re-soap. Next time, I'm going to try to skipping the thumb.
Also, cotton really stretches when wet! I went up to a larger hook, as an experiment. I'll go back down to the H next time, too.
