GAUGE:
8 stitches and 10 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) in Stockinette stitch (knit on right side, purl on wrong side) with 2 strands of yarn held together. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

With 1 strand each of A and F held together, cast on 60 stitches. Work in Stockinette stitch (knit on right side, purl on wrong side) in the following Color Sequence:
10 rows with 1 strand each of A and F held together.
6 rows with 1 strand each of B and F held together.
4 rows with 1 strand each of C and G held together.
8 rows with 1 strand each of D and G held together.
10 rows with 1 strand each of E and H held together.
8 rows with 1 strand each of A and H held together.
8 rows with 1 strand each of B and J held together.
8 rows with 1 strand each of C and J held together.
4 rows with 1 strand each of D and K held together.
4 rows with 1 strand each of E and K held together.
Bind off loosely.
FINISHING
Weave in ends.

This was easy to knit and very cute. I made a bit larger as it was for my 5 year old. She loved it! The colors were great. The only drawback was that I wish it was much softer. I will make again for gift, but plan to change the yarn. I really liked working with the cotton-ease, but will mix with something other than Jiffy.
