STITCH EXPLANATION:
sc2tog (sc decrease) Insert hook into st and draw up a loop. Insert hook into next st and draw up a loop. Yarn over, draw through all 3 loops on hook.

BASKET
With A, ch 2.
Rnd 1: Work 6 sc in first ch. Place marker in first st for beg of rnd; move marker up as each rnd is completed.
Rnd 2: Work 2 sc in each sc around - 12 sc.
Rnd 3: *2 sc in next st, sc in next st, rep from * around - 18 sc.
Rnd 4: *2 sc in next st, sc in each of next 2 sts, rep from * around - 24 sts.
Rnd 5: *2 sc in next st, sc in each of next 3 sts, rep from * around - 30 sts.
Rnd 6: *2 sc in next st, sc in each of next 4 sts, rep from * around - 36 sts.
Rnd 7: Working through back loops, sc in each sc stitch - 36 sts.
Rnd 8: *2 sc in next st, sc in each of next 5 sts, rep from * around - 42 sts.
Rnd 9: Sc in each sc around - 42 sts.

FLOWER
With B, ch 2.
Rnd 1: Work 6 sc in first ch.
Rnd 2: * Work 2 hdc and sl st in next sc, rep from * around.
Fasten off.
LEAF
With C, ch 4
2 dc in first ch, hdc in next ch, 3 sc in last ch. Working into opposite side of ch, work hdc in next ch, 2 dc in next ch, sl st beg st.
Fasten off.
FINISHING
Sew ends of Handle inside Basket. Sew on Flower and Leaf. Weave in ends.

Basket crocheted up quickly. I didn't fasten off at end but just continued with chains till I had the length I wanted for the handle then joined at other side. It needed something to firm up handle and as I didn't have pipe cleaners I used a plastic cable tie. I did an extra row but worked through loops of first and previous row to hide cable tie and strengthen it. Worked a treat. I think you could get away without the handle so might try that next time.
Also as my basket was beige I did an extra row round basket in the same colour as the flower and it looks great. Will try to post picture once I work out how to.
