GAUGE: 9 sc + 13 rows = 4 in (10 cm) using larger hook and A.
EXACT GAUGE IS NOT ESSENTIAL FOR THIS PROJECT. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

SCARF
With larger hook and A, loosely ch 104.
Row 1: Sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across - 103 sc.
Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sc in each sc.
Rep Row 2 until piece measures about 9 in. (23 cm) from beg. Fasten off.
FLOWERS
With smaller hook and B, ch 8, sl st in first ch to form a ring.
Rnd 1: Ch 1, 18 dc in ring, join with sl st in beg ch - 18 dc.
Rnd 2: Ch 1, beg in same st as first ch, (sc, ch 3, skip next 2 st) 6 times, join with sl st in beg sc.
Rnd 3: Ch 1, *(sc, ch 3, 5 tr, ch 3, sc) in ch-3 sp, rep from * 5 times, join with sl st in beg sc. Fasten off. Make as many Flowers as desired.
FINISHING
Weave in ends. Sew Flowers to Scarf as desired. |
