Downloadable Pattern: Zen Coat
Lion Brand® Wool-Ease®
GAUGE: 19 sts + 24 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) in St st (k on RS, p on WS). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
STITCH EXPLANATION: PATTERN STITCH
K2, p1 Rib
Row 1: *K2, p1, rep from * across, end k2.
Row 2: K the knit sts and p the purl sts.
Rep Rows 1 and 2 for k2, p1 Rib. |
NOTES: 1. Fronts are worked separately from the lower edge to the back neck, with stitches for sleeves cast on at side edges.
2. Sleeve stitches are joined (to form back neck) then worked in one piece for back yoke.
3. When back yoke has been completed, stitches are bound off for back, and sleeves are worked separately until underarm shaping has been completed.
4. Back is worked from lower edge to underarm, and includes a box pleat at center back.
5. The edges of the underarm shaping of the back and sleeve sections are not seamed and create an underarm opening.
6. Circular needle is used to accommodate the large number of stitches. Work back and forth in rows, as if working on straight needles.
