GAUGE:

8 dc = 3 in. (7.5 cm)
EXACT GAUGE IS NOT ESSENTIAL FOR THIS PROJECT.
BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Midnight Sun Hat Reviewed by Carolina Stoddart on 2012-10-28 *****
This turns out gorgeous -I made it in red- but it is THE hardest yarn to work with EVER. However way into the job I figured out that working against a light source makes it about ten thousand times easier. I wish I'd known this from the start, so I thought I'd put it out there for the next person to use this pattern. Trust me, you'll be glad you did it.
