GAUGE:
5 stitches + 4 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) in Stockinette stitch (knit on right side, purl on wrong side) with 2 strands of yarn held together. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
NOTES:
Scarf is worked with 2 strands of yarn held together.
SCARF With 2 strands of yarn held together, cast on 11 stitches.
Work in Stockinette Stitch (knit on right side, purl on wrong side) until piece measures 90 in. (228.5 cm) from beginning.
Bind off.
Well it certainly is easy a complete no brainer , perfect for a watch tv knitter or beginner. I used two different colors of thick and quick and carried one metallic strand thr-out.
Yes it curls horribly like a snake and that ruins the look. It can be de-snaked with some fortitude. You need to immerse the entire scarf in water with a tad of fabric softner, block it flat and roll it up in towel for a few days. Then use on steam irom on the sides. I added a row of slip stitches too along the sides to give it a frame. I think it looks 100% better now. Good luck!
