COASTER
With 2 strands of A, and leaving a long end, make 18 inches (46 cm) of cord.
Change to a single strand of B and make 1 more inch (2.5 cm) of cord. Tie
off, cut ends and pull ends into the cord to hide.
Beginning with the A end , coil the cord into a circle. Thread end of
yarn into the needle and use this to sew the coil in place as you go. Tie off
end and weave in. Note: If you want to change the angle at which the stem
attaches to the apple, you may want to take a few small, invisible stitches to
position it as you wish. If you want to make an indentation at the
bottom as on a real apple, simply stitch invisibly through the center of the
apple. Tie off all ends and weave in.
If desired, use B to embroider a few leaves.
