14 sts + 15 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) in pattern stitch. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Crochet Baby Blankie Reviewed by Jennifer Owen on 2016-01-01 *****
I have made several of these blankets as gifts for family and friends. It works up easy and is a quick pattern to do, especially in the car or relaxing in front of the TV of a night.

All the recipients have loved them.

I've actually worked them up in variegated yarns (blues, reds, greens, rainbows). As well as a solid color too.
