GAUGE:

11 hdc + 8 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Beach Cover-up / Tunic Reviewed by Kay on 2014-09-10 *
It took some time off from trying this pattern for the 20th time. Row 4 is IMPOSSIBLE to understand. When you ch1, sk 1 hdc, hdc in the next hdc until the last 3 hdc, then hdc in the last 3 hdc and hdc in the turning chain, it throws off the number of hdc you start in row 5. Row 4 is incorrect, so that makes row 5 incorrect. I am going to just do the knit version of this pullover.
