GAUGE:

18 sts + 28 rows = 4 in. (10 cm). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Downloadable Pattern: Tree of Life Afghan Reviewed by Beverly Harcourt on 2009-11-03 *****
I just finished knitting this Afghan and loved every minute! It was complicated enough to keep my attention but easy enough to keep me from getting frustrated. The directions were very clear and easy to follow once I started using rulers to follow the pattern. I'm thrilled with the results.
