Lion Brand® Nature's Choice Organic® Cotton
GAUGE: 14 stitches across and 28 rows down should measure 4 in. [10 cm] in Garter stitch (knit every stitch on every row). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

BACK
Cast on 36 stitches.
Work in Garter stitch (knit every stitch on every row) until piece measures 10 in. [25.5 cm]. Bind
off.
FRONTS (make 2)
Cast on 19 stitches.
Work in Garter stitch until piece measures 10 in. [25.5 cm]. Bind off.
SLEEVES (make 2)
Cast on 28 stitches.
Work in Garter stitch until piece measures 5 in. [12.5 cm]. Bind off.
FINISHING
Sew shoulder seams from armhole edge towards center for 2 1/2 in. [6.5 cm], leaving remaining
edges open.
Mark 4 in. [10cm] down from shoulder on Front and Back. Sew Sleeve to between marks. Sew side and
Sleeve seams. Weave in ends.
At neck edge, fold corner down 2 in. [5 cm] and tack in place. Repeat on the other side. |

| I've made 3 of these adorable cardigans, and everyone loves them! I used an acrylic 4-ply yarn instead of cotton, and it worked up beautifully. Great for beginners or for advanced knitters who want to make a fast, easy sweater. Add ribbons, embroider little flowers, crochet a little shell border - it's a terrific canvas for your creativity.
