GAUGE:

18 sts + 20 rows = 4 in. [10 cm] in Pattern st. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

PATTERN STITCH (multiple of 12 sts + 6)
Row 1:
K3, *yo, k2tog; rep from * to last 3 sts, k3.
Rows 2 and 4: K3, p to last 3 sts, k3.
Row 3: Knit.
Rows 5 and 8: K3, *k 3 together, k4, yo, k1, yo, k4; rep from * across, end k3.
Rows 6, 7 and 9: K3, *p 3 together, p4, yo, p1, yo, p4; rep from * across, end k3.
Rows 10-18: Rep Rows 1-9.1-18 for Pattern stitch.

STOLE
With A, cast on 78 sts. *With work 1-18 of Pattern st. With B, work Rows 1-18 of Pattern st. With C, work 1-18 of Pattern st. With D, work 1-18 of Pattern stitch. Rep from * 5 more times. With work 1-8 of Pattern st. Bind off in pattern.

FINISHING
Weave in ends.

I have made several of these with different types of yarn, and the kit one time. Everyone I made these for loved them and others are asking. I doubled the pattern using 150 cast on. and made great throws for winter nights watching TV. This is my favorite pattern. Looks beautiful no matter what yarn you use or how many colors. Looks good in just one color.
