Speed Hook Earflap Hat and Scarf Set

Lion Brand Microspun

GAUGE:

8 sts + 8 rows = 4 in. [10 cm] in (sc, ch 1) pattern using 1 strand each of A, B, C, and D held together. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Speed Hook Earflap Hat and Scarf Set Reviewed by Cora on 2014-03-04 *****
I found this pattern very versatile. you can make the one in the picture which is perfect for a child and ties under the chin to keep out cold. or when finished with the majority before adding ear flaps seam it up for a very bulky cap roll the edge back for a Vogue brim style or flip it around and allow the open edge that is the gathered edge to cover the back of your hair and bun and roll back the brim and bring one side around to secure to the other side of the front add a bow to the rolled back brim and a very large beautiful button to secure the side.
