GAUGE:
19 stitches = 4 in. [10 cm] in garter stitch (knit every row). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
NOTES:
Circular needle is used to accommodate large number of stitches. Blanket is knit back and forth in rows just as if knitting with straight needles.

i make this blanket every time i find out i'm expecting another grandchild. i start right away - always make them white, then crochet a pink or blue border around them when i find out what they baby will be. everyone i've given them to loves them. thanks, lion brand!
