GAUGE:
20 sts + 28 rows = 4 in. [10 cm] in St st (k on RS, p on WS). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
STITCH EXPLANATION:
MB (Make Bobble) [Knit into the front then into the back of next stitch without slipping it from left needle] twice, knit into the front loop once more – 5 stitches. Slip the stitch from the left needle. Turn work and purl these 5 sts, turn work and knit 5, turn, p2tog, p 1, p2tog, turn, k3tog – Bobble made.
STOCKING With B, cast on 20 sts.
Bobble Row: *K 2, MB; rep from * across, end k 2. Change to A.
Purl 1 row.
Work 10 more rows in St st.
Shape heel and foot Heel: K 7, turn, p 6, turn, k 6, turn, p 6, turn, k 3, k2tog, k 1, turn, p 2, p2tog, p 1, turn, k 4, pick up and k 3 sts along edge of heel, turn, p 7, pick up and purl 3 sts along opposite edge of heel, p 1–24 sts.
Next Row: K2tog, k 8, k2tog, k 12.

Next Row: K2tog, k 6, k2tog, k 12.

Hanging Loop: With A, cast on 20 sts. Bind off. Fold hanging loop in half and sew ends inside stocking.
With B, work 4 straight sts, crossed at center, to make snowflake on front of Stocking.
Weave in ends.

I tried it last night and had a little trouble...it didn't quite turn out. I enjoyed the bobble part, but the stocking part did not turn out. I'll try it again and see what I did wrong.
