Stitch Explanation:

4-st RC Sl 2 sts to cn and hold to back, k2, k2 from cn.

Pattern:

Rows 1 and 3 (RS) Knit. 
Row 2
 Purl. 
Row 4 *K2, p4; rep from *, end k2. 
Row 5 P2, *4-st RC, p2; rep from * to end. 
Row 6 Purl. 
Rep rows 1–6.

Note: this is a generic pattern for creating this cable. For a single cable it would be 8 stitches. In the example shown, there are 5 repeats of the stitch, so you'd need to cast on 32 (6 x 5 +2) stitches and do 5 repeats to get a swatch that appears the same.
