Stitch Explanation: 6-st RC Sl 3 sts to cn and hold to back, k3, k3 from cn.

Pattern: Rows 1, 5 and 7 (RS) [K1, p1] 4 times, *p1, k6, p1, [p1, k1] 4 times; rep from * to end. 
Rows 2, 4 and 6 *[K1, p1] 4 times, k1, p6, k1; rep from *, end [p1, k1] 4 times. 
Row 3 [K1, p1] 4 times, *p1, 6-st RC, p1, [p1, k1] 4 times; rep from * to end. 
Row 8 Rep row 2. 
Rep rows 1–8.

Note: this is a generic pattern for creating this cable. For a single cable it would be 16 stitches. In the example shown, there are 2 repeats of the stitch, so you'd need to cast on 40 (16 x 2 + 8) stitches and do 2 repeats to get a swatch that appears the same.
