I bought this size to make a smaller version of a circle afghan using Lion Brand Big Scoop 10 oz.. I wanted to have one a baby can carry and sleep with.
The Ice Cream Big Scoop line is my absolute favorite. So far, I've crocheted 2 keepsake heirloom baby blankets. One for my dear friend in Cotton Candy and another for my cousin in Tutti Frutti (pictured). They were over the moon happy with their very special (soft and snuggly) baby shower presents. Recently, I ordered another skein in the colorway Unicorn. And the color combo is beyond gorgeous. I'm currently using it to make a fur baby blankie for my 6 month old Lynx Point Siamese Kitten and it is looking great! I purchased the Blue Raspberry color to make a baby blanket. I use this yarn all the time but recently I've noticed there's been a discrepancy in the colors. The darkest shade "dark denim blue" has not been consistent in my most recent ball of yarn. Otherwise, it's an easy yarn to use, crochets up beautifully, and makes wonderful gifts!
Soft, beautiful yarn perfect for baby knits. I combined Big Scoop blue raspberry with Pound of Love pastel blue to make a blanket for my soon to be born grandson. I love the big skeins. It only takes 1 of each to knit this blanket. My daughter loves that it will be washable and dryable.
Ice cream is my go to baby yarn. I like the big scoop for blankets and larger projects. My favorite thing about this yarn are the supper fun color combos— both traditional baby colors (think pastels) and non traditional (like ube). It knits up well AND crochets up well. Easy to care for too. I hope they never stop making this yarn! This is the Every Which Way blanket using Tutti Frutti color way.
