    • Love this yarn!

This yarn if so soft and beautiful. I used pink poodle to make a prayer blanket for a friend. I used 12 balls and had no shedding at all. My knit friends like the yarn so well we just ordered enough of diff colors to make 5 blankets and 2 cowls. I made a swatch with my leftovers, but have not washed it yet to see how it holds up. Overall, highly recommend.

    • Difficult

I bought this yarn in a kit and tried to make up the pattern the kit came with but it just didn't work in knitting for me. I used one of the balls in the for a headband and used crochet. It turned out pretty well and is very warm when I wear the headband. Unfortunately, I have to agree with the reviews above that this yarn sheds. I probably won't buy it again.

    • Softest Yarn EVER

This yarn is without a doubt the softest thing I have ever felt! It's even softer than my cat's fur, and he's really soft. Nevertheless, this is a tricky yarn to work with because it's very hard to see the stitches. When I knitted my first row after the cast on, I used muscle memory more than vision because it was almost impossible to see the stitches because of the fluff factor of the yarn. If I was a beginner knitter, I would find this yarn challenging until I got the hang of it. Unlike previous reviewers, my yarn didn't shed at all (and I had to rip out and restart my project a couple times). I would recommend this yarn for anyone wanting to make cozy winter accessories as it's super soft and nice and warm. Imade a cowl using garter stitch and wouldn't both trying to do any patterned stitchwork because the fluffiness of the yarn would obscure that entirely. Overall, I'm a big fan of this yarn -- just can't wait for it to be available in stores in Canada so I can avoid paying shipping costs.

    • faux fur sheds terribly!

I had exactly the same experience as the previous reviewer. The faux fur is beautiful and so soft, but sheds terribly, especially as you're working with it. There was so much fur in the air while I was crocheting, that I seriously considered wearing a mask. This could actually be an issue for someone with asthma. When I finished my project (crocheted vest), I used a regular vacuum cleaner hose to go over it several times in an attempt to suck out all the loose fur. This helped some, but the vest continues to shed terribly on any clothes I wear with it. I have spent a lot of time with lint rollers in order to get all the loose hair off my shirts. The fur clings to everything by static electricity, so it's more difficult to get rid of than pet hair. Anyway, I can't wear the vest because it continues to shed so badly, and I will never use faux fur yarn again on any project.

    • be careful using this for Baby!

My first time to use Go For Faux yarn. Love the plush feel of the knitted garment; however, I Hate the way it spontaneously fills the air and covers me in bits of the fur as I knit! Perhaps with washing/blocking this will diminish/disappear but based on my current in-progress knitting experience, I will Never use this for anything Baby related! I had originally thought to line a baby bunting but I'm concerned the amount of yarn bits coming off the strand could (would?!) create a choking/breathing hazard to an infant/toddler. I've ended up vacuuming my shirt and area around where I sit and knit to keep my cat from inhalation/ingestion danger. A shame as It would make the softest baby blanket; but until I know more about how this yarn comes through wash/dry, well ... not going to take any chances.
