Not great for baby items

I had high hopes for this yarn after reading the reviews. I bought it to make a baby blanket with a matching hat, mittens, and booties. It works up a little stiff and isn’t that soft. It’s almost rubbery? Hard to explain. Trying to crochet fpdc/bpdc was a nightmare as the yarn doesn’t have much give, and that’s even with Tulip hooks. I’m so disappointed and hoping to destash on Marketplace for someone into amigurumi, for which this texture is probably ideal. It’s definitely good quality and doesn’t split, it’s just not good for items you want to be soft and drapey.

Quality control? What happened?

I hate to write a negative review of my favorite yarn, and my MIL and I have been knitting with Butta for years, but the most recent order was full of skeins that were waxy, sticky, and stiff. Not at all what we've come to expect. You can SEE the difference. The grey/brown are what we've come to expect, the pink is like wax. I know yarns can be affected by age, dye, how it's stored - but this feels like a completely (much cheaper/discount) yarn. My MIL refuses to knit with it. I'm just so sad to see some of the quality go downhill.

I'm disappointed. The yarn I received is nothing like the yarn of the same name and article number I bought previously. The paper band on the new delivery is the white, which is not what was pictured on the website when I ordered. It seems that Lion not only changed the wrapper, but the texture of this yarn is completely different to what I had in the navy blue wrap. The older version really does feel like the most amazingly soft yarn! The new one is not so. Customer service basically said I could look into returning it if I want, but they don't have to send me what's pictured in my order.

Smooth yarn

I ordered several colors to do my project. The yarn is meshed together so it doesn’t cause any splitting problem. It is easy to work with. Has a bit of halo which doesn’t interfere with frogging. I would buy it again.

Super soft yarn for Baby blanket

I really like this online site and all the options and information that is shown with Lion Brand yarns. I am grateful to have found this online site
It did seem a bit slow for me to get the yarn considering I paid for the shipping too.
