Great Kit

This kit is great. I’ve been looking for a chevron blanket pattern using super chunky yarn. The yarn is very soft, and the colors are beautiful together, but not the easiest to work with because it’s hard to see the rows and you have to work by “feel.” This is my WIP, and I understand why it’s classified as “intermediate” for the above reason. However, the pattern, although clear and easy to follow, suggests fastening off and joining with a slip stitch at the end of almost EVERY ROW! I think that’s silly and a waste of time. After I dc2tog or sc2tog, I just join the new row like I always do by pulling the new color through the last loop and chaining once for the upcoming sc rows and 3 times for the dc rows. Otherwise, it’s a good pattern.

Lovely design

This kit has a lovely design and beautiful colors. I’d have given it a 5-star rating, but I couldn’t figure out why the pattern has you break off the yarn after row 3, only to use the same yarn again for row 4. Maybe because it has you repeat row 3 for the yarns that only get one row? But surely it would be less confusing to just say in the repeat instructions to fasten off after those rows? After breaking and not turning the first time through, I didn’t bother for the remaining repeats. If there would be a difference, no one would see it with this yarn anyway.
