Editor's Note: This throw is made in panels. While it is possible to knit it all in one piece with a long circular needle, this method requires a large number of stitches and can be difficult to work with.

GAUGE:
8 sts = 4 in. [10 cm] over St st (k on RS, p on WS) BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. Sutter's Mill Throw Reviewed by Cheryl Moore on 2011-03-20
I just finished this afghan. It is a great pattern. I also knit it as one piece on a long circular needle. I never seem to get things finished when I have to join panels. I made mine longer too. It was going to be too short for me otherwise. I think this pattern is a great one for someone to learn how to do a cable pattern. I can't wait to snuggle down under my afghan with a good book.
