Whoosh Scarf
Lion Brand® Vanna's Choice®
GAUGE:
4 V-sts = 9 in. (23 cm) with 5 strands of A and 2 strands of B held together. Due to the nature of the fabric when working with a Speed Hook, gauge may vary throughout project. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
STITCH EXPLANATION:
V-st (Dc, ch 1, dc) in indicated st.
NOTES:
1. Scarf is worked with 5 strands of A and 2 strands of B held together.
2. Before beginning, cut 22 in. (56 cm) lengths for fringe as follows: cut 150 lengths of A and 60 lengths of B. Set lengths aside.
SCARF With 5 strands of A and 2 strands of B held together, ch 25.
Row 1: V-st in 5th ch from hook, *sk next 2 ch, V-st in next ch; rep from * across to last 2 ch, sk next ch, dc in last ch – 7 V-sts.
Row 2: Ch 3, turn, V-st in each ch-1 sp across, dc in top of turning ch.
Rep Row 2 until almost all yarn is used. Fasten off.
FINISHING Weave in ends.
Fringe For each fringe, hold 5 strands of A and 2 strands of B together and fold in half. Use crochet hook to draw fold through edge of piece, forming a loop. Pull ends of fringe through this loop and tighten. Make 15 fringes along each short edge of Scarf, knotting the fringe through each ch-1 sp and sps between V-sts. Trim fringe ends evenly.

Whoosh Scarf Reviewed by June Thompson on 2010-11-29
This is a beautiful scarf, I have not made this perticular scarf, but I have made one similar to it. I made it with chunky yarn and it only used one ball, which I could afford. One reason I crochet besides loving it, Is to save money but there is no way I can afford a scarf for $80.00 if I could I would buy one. It use to be more affordable to crochet, sew, bead etc.... but the prices keep going up & thats so sad because I love hand made crafts, but I am having problems affording to do the things I love.
