This is a great, easy pattern that knits really fast and looks great when finished. I made this for my daughter and family and they are very tall so I increased the size from 48 x 48 to about 66 x 72 and used close to 20 skeins (can't exactly remember) I made this last year and everyone LOVED it but one extremely disappointing flaw is the yarn. It pills just terrible. I have pictures to show what happens. I have to say that this afghan is used everyday in the winter by the family. The worse it got the more embarrassed I would be when my daughter would boast that I made it. It looked like a complete train wreck. So I took it home and meticulously clipped off all the dangling pilled threads. That took what would amount to a week of work but, happily, it looks almost new again. If it does it again the afghan will be tossed. I'm sharing this experience so you all know what can happen. It's about the yarn, not the pattern. Photos are first made, second shows all the pilling and last one shows it (backside) after my OCD de-pilling marathon.
