Library Capelet
Lion Brand® Homespun®
GAUGE: 14 sts + 20 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) in St st (k on RS, p on WS). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
STITCH EXPLANATION: Seed Stitch (over an even number of sts)
Row 1 (RS): *K1, p1; rep from * across.
Row 2: P the knit sts and k the purl sts.
Rep Row 2 for Seed st.
|
NOTES: 1) Circular needle is used to accommodate large number of sts. Work back and forth on circular needle as if working on straight needles.
2) To keep Collar folded down, button Capelet through both buttonholes.

| This is a great pattern that is quick and easy, and makes a very cute capelet, much cuter than is shown in the photo. My mother absolutely loves the one I made her (I used a different yarn, a 100% wool, single-ply, loosely twisted). I thought the pattern was well-written and easy to follow. But I won't bother with two buttonholes another time. One does the trick quite nicely.
