5 sts + 8 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) in St st in the round (knit every round) with 2 strands of yarn held together. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Beautiful for Canada or Wisconsin! Casual Comfort Pullover Reviewed by Angie Kose on 2012-12-04
I didn't make this yet but I think it's very practical for cold weather. My mom lives near lake Michigan and freezes to death in winter. I think She'd LOVE this sweater. When temps drop really, really low, people don't care what "warmth" looks like. If you have friends in Alaska or in other cold climates, this is the sweater for them. It looks like it knits up quickly, too. I can't wait to make this.
