Lace Sampler Scarf

Lion Brand® Wool-Ease®

GAUGE:

20 sts + 26 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) in Stockinette st (k on RS, p on WS). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

STITCH EXPLANATION:

skp Sl 1 as if to k, k1, pass sl st over k st (1 st decreased).
sk2p Sl 1 as if to k, k2tog, pass sl st over (2 sts decreased).
m1 lift horizontal bar between the st just worked and the next st to the lefthand needle and k this st through back loop.

PATTERN STITCHES
Lace Rib (over 33 sts)
Row 1 (RS): K1, *yo, k2tog, p1, k1; rep from * to end of row.
Row 2: P1, *yo, p2tog, k1, p1: rep from * to end of row.
Rep Rows 1 and 2 for Lace Rib.

Diagonal Eyelet Lace (over 33 sts)
Row 1 (RS): K1, *yo, skp, k6; rep from * to end of row.
Row 2 and all WS Rows: Purl.
Row 3: K2, *yo, skp, k6; rep from * to last 7 sts, yo, skp, k5.
Row 5: K3, *yo, skp, k6; rep from * to last 6 sts, yo, skp, k4.
Row 6: Purl.
Rep Rows 1-6 for Diagonal Eyelet Lace.

Zigzag Lace (over 33 sts)
Row 1 (RS): K1, *yo, k2, sk2p, k2, yo, k1; rep from * to end of row.
Row 2 and all WS rows: Purl.
Row 3: K1, *k1, yo, k1, sk2p, k1, yo, k2; rep from * to end of row.
Row 5: K1, *k2, yo, sk2p, yo, k3; rep from * to end of row.
Row 6: Purl.
Rep Rows 1-6 for Zigzag Lace.

Lace and Ridges (over 33 sts, decreased to 17 sts on Row 2, increased back to 33 sts on Row 3)
Row 1 (RS): Purl.
Row 2: (P2tog) across row to last st, p1.
Row 3: K1, *m1, k1; rep from * to end of row.
Row 4: P1, *yo, p2tog; rep from * to end of row.
Rep Rows 1-4 for Lace and Ridges.

SCARF
Cast on 33 sts.
Work Rows 1 and 2 of Lace Rib for about 8 in. (20.5 cm), end with Row 2.
Rep Rows 1-6 of Diagonal Eyelet Lace 9 times.
Rep Rows 1-6 of Zigzag Lace 9 times.
Rep Rows 1-4 of Lace and Ridges for about 12 in. (30.5 cm), end with Row 4.
Rep Rows 1-6 of Zigzag Lace 9 times.
Rep Rows 1-6 of Diagonal Eyelet Lace 9 times.
Work Rows 1 and 2 of Lace Rib for about 8 in. (20.5 cm), end with Row 2.
Bind off.

FINISHING
Weave in ends.
