GAUGE:
18 sts + 24 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) in St st (k on RS, p on WS) with larger needles. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Cabled Women's Cardigan Reviewed by Margaret Tarantino on 2009-03-19
I made this sweater for my mother and she loves it. It took a while to get the pattern burned into my mind, but once I had it, it wasn't bad at all. You definitely need to keep track of the rows, though. I also highly recommend blocking - especially the sleeves. The neck and armhole shaping on the front panels can be tricky, too, so read them carefully before starting or you'll end up with one less stitch before the shoulder shaping.
The cables are beautiful, the sweater is nice and toasty and I found it to be true to size (although, I did use a lot less yarn than called for - by about 3.5 skeins).
