My mystery yarn was macrame cording which I do not use. I was expecting yarn not cording. I don't think I will order the mystery yarn again.
I received a set of macrame yarn that I am not sure yet what to do with, but I am excited to see what I do decide on. I'm sure this yarn will be high quality and delightful to work with as every other yarn I have used from Lion Brand.
I ordered a mystery skein for $6.00 and received a skein of Skein Tones, which is priced at $5.99. IDK why, but I expected a discount of some sort for purchasing a mystery skein. Suffice to say I was disappointed.
I really like the yarn that I got. I plan to use it to make snowflakes for Christmas. I haven't started using it yet but I can tell they will be very pretty. Thanks.
I bought two mystery skeins, one each for two different orders. The first one arrived and it was a skein of a fun line of yarn I had not tried yet. It was valued somewhere around $9 or $10, so I felt I got a good value. I went and looked at that fun line of yarns and bought one skein each of five different colors. Score for Lion Brands, they sold $50 of yarn because I bought a $6 mystery skein and liked what I got. Next order arrived and second mystery skein was a tiny boring skein of something I can buy now on clearance on several different sites for about $3. So I wasted $6 buying that mystery skein and now I will not be adding mystery skeins to my purchases. It makes me feel less excited about buying from Lion and even makes me feel a little stupid for buying the mystery skein. You don't want to make your customers feel stupid for buying your stuff. Make sure that your mystery skeins are worth AT LEAST what you are charging for them, better yet make sure they are worth a little more so your customers feel grateful and feel some loyalty to your company.
EDITED TO ADD: Okay, I got a third mystery skein that I had ordered before I got the 2nd one. The third mystery skein was a fabulous surprise worth much more than I paid, so I upped my review to five stars.
