Expensive and splits like crazy

$50 for 12 mini skeins is quiet expensive. I was using these to crochet trivets. Its very hard to work with for crochet because it splits SO much. Maybe it's OK for its intended macrame-I didn't try. Not sure how it'll wash up with the super loose ply.
