Caring and Sharing

While so many of us love making things for ourselves and our families, many in the Lion community go further, creating for those in need. Join us in this section and be touched by these true stories of caring and sharing submitted by Lion Brand readers.

prayer shawls

Dear People of Lion Brand:

I have knitted since I was two years old. I was taught by my Auntie. I entered a baby set into the fair when I was five. I was awarded a blue ribbon, surprisingly!

Little did I know I was preparing for a ministry that would help so many people. I have made twelve prayer shawls that were blessed on the altar at our church and given to deserving people. I have gotten so much out of making and giving and praying for the recipient of these shawls. I have not only benefited spiritually while knitting, I relax this way and I believe it has helped relieve the Arthritis that is trying to set in.

We have only used Lion Brand Homespun Yarn and the shawls turn out so soft you just want to curl up with one. Our hope is that it relieves the pain and suffering of the one we have prayed for while knitting; the one that receives each shawl.

Sincerely In His Love, Kathy H.
