Crochet Mood Blanket 2024

SKU: M23292

Capture a moment in time by crocheting a mood blanket that’s unique to you! Mood blankets can begin at any time and last as long as you need, however, this pattern is written to be worked over a period of 6 months. Mood blankets are a great way to document special times. Expecting a baby? Stitch a row every day until baby arrives. Planning a wedding? Count down the days with a mood blanket!

Like our temperature blanket, you will work one row per day. However, instead of color being based on temperatures, here you will choose a color that matches how you’re feeling. We’ve created a chart with colors assigned to 10 different moods, but feel free to swap out our choices for colors that better represent you! You will need 13 balls of Color Theory yarn to complete a 180 day blanket. We’ve suggested two balls for the colors that are assigned to the moods Loved, Happy, and Creative. Arrange your colors in any way you want as long as you have a minimum of 13 balls of Color Theory yarn total.

The number of balls per color we’ve suggested should be used as a guideline only. You may use more or less of each color depending on how many days per mood you work. You will get approx. 14 days from one ball.

A change from temperature blankets

This pattern caught my eye due to the name. Temperature blankets have been around forever but this is the first mood blanket kit I've run into. I only work on it at the end of each day and it challenges me to ask myself "how was your mood today?" So far, I've found it to be therapeutic and reflective of my day. Definitely a worthy kit for those who want to be more in tune with their daily moods.
